Where to?Before beginning a business, ask yourself this question:

What do you I want to do with my life?

Hardly the question one expects. Maybe questions about funding, marketing, cashflow expertise and profits would have been more appropriate or expected.. But life? Isn’t this more appropriate for a Philosophy class or some motivation course?

I dare say this is the most important question one should ask.

How many times in the past have you made New Year’s resolutions? And how many resolutions were “resolved”? How many were left “unsolved” or “dissolved”?

I rest my case.

One of the most inspiring books I’ve read this year is The Success Principles, How to Get From Where You Are To Where You Want To Be. It was co-written by one of my favorite authors, Jack Canfield of the Chicken Soup for the Soul fame together with Jane Switzer. The book lists 64 principles when applied to our lives will bring us unprecedented success.

Some valuable lessons I’ve learned from the book are about relationships. I am determined to follow them. I have not perfected them yet, but I can say that I am
experiencing improved relationships with the people around me.

These guidelines apply to our personal life and to our lives as entrepreneurs and professionals as well. We relate with our spouse, children, clients, suppliers, vendors, partners, officemates, bosses, subordinates - all types of people. And the principles are the same. Read more
