The Philippine Blog Awards 2008 and Then Some
Yes, I’ve missed a lot of events. I’ll probably miss a lot more. It’s a good thing bloggers write about them after. It’s the second best thing to being there.
Even with the uncertainty of my participation, here are some events that we could look forward to. You may know of them already - just think of this post as a reminder.
Philippine Blog Awards
To be held in One Esplanade, SM Mall of Asia on 2008 September 21. We’ve received a lot of entries already and we’ll be announcing the closing of nominations soon. So nominate your favorite blog now.

Also, watch out regularly for announcements at Philippine Blog Awards site. I hear from a good source that there’ll be some kind of …. Oops, that’s supposed to be a secret. Just visit the site more often, okay?
Buhay Coke Part 2: Announcement of Buhay Coke Vlog Winners
WordCamp Davao and Manila
The Blogging Platform that has swept the blogging world is coming to Davao and Manila. To be graced by Mr. WordPress himself, Matt Mullenweg and organized by our Mindanao Blogger friends, this will be one exciting Blogfest.
EeeVent
I went to the launch of the Asus Eee Box and Eee 1000H at the Makati Shangrila last July 29 and was impressed with the new models. The low-cost PC/UMPC market has gotten tighter. Will these become the low-cost computer of choice for Pinoys?
Aside: We caught a video of the Asus Eee Stick before the start of the program. It functions pretty much like the Wii controller. The video demo showed a generic game being controlled from the Stick. Would we be seeing a new era of game peripherals that will not be brand/game specific? I’d like to see a device strapped to my hand that can become a sword, a tennis racket, a rapid-fire laser gun or a paint brush. Maybe strap another device on my feet. Or legs or torso. These will come out in a few years or so. Mark my words.
I wonder if Senator Mar Roxas, who recently launched his blog, will be blogging about these things soon?
